History

The stone jar or “genever kruik’ is a bottle with a long history. The Bols family was the first to produce real high quality genevers. But did you know that the Bols family founded the company in 1575 and began by making liqueurs? The production of genever came 100 years later. Lucas Bols is still world-famous for its range of 33 liqueurs which you can get to know in House of Bols.

Taste

Did you know that as much as 95% of your taste is determined by what you smell? And that you also need your eyes and nose in order to taste? In the Hall of Taste you will undergo a true taste experiment by tasting, smelling and feeling. In brief, you will experience the power of taste. And now all that is left is to find out what the secret recipe is behind the Bols genever … in the original recipe book from 1726.
